MATRIX Player Fee Payment and Refund Policy 2018

MATRIX offers an optional payment plan via credit card, cash, or check, through our online registration service Blue Sombrero for player fees as a convenience.

For players who join the club before 1 July player fees and player fee payment plans must be paid in full by 1 July.

No player ID's will be released to play the Fall season if funds are due to the club.

MATRIX club soccer requires a more defined refund policy: A player’s acceptance onto a team has the effect of denying another player an opportunity to play on that team. Costs immediately accrue to the Club for goods and services based on player headcount. Fees for participation in the club cover the entire soccer year. A player who accepts an invitation to play with the Club commits to pay the entire fee for the full soccer year. If after you have paid player fees we are unable to place your child on a team we will refund the player fees paid. Refunds for credit card transactions will be minus a $25 credit card transaction fee. No refunds, partial or full, will be made to players who choose not to participate after 30 June for any reason, including players suspended from the program. The only exceptions are: (1) In the event that a player has a season ending injury, the MATRIX member Regional board, hereafter the board, may consider a partial refund after review of records provided by the treating physician or facility (2) Families that relocate more than 20 miles farther away from the MATRIX member Region after payment and before the conclusion of league season. The board may consider a partial refund in these circumstances on a case by case basis.

Except for season ending medical injuries or relocation requests fees are not refundable after 30 June. Partial fees may be transferable if the player moves to another AYSO soccer program within the Region they registered in MATRIX. All fee transfers are at the discretion of the board.

In the event that a player is injured before or during the season and cannot play or practice for the remainder of the season, the Board may consider providing a partial refund. Families must submit a written request with a physician note to the MATRIX member Region's MATRIX Representative.

Please note that refundable amounts are time-sensitive. Costs accrue to the Club for services provided to the team based on player headcount each month.  Consequently, the refundable amount will be affected by the date you request the refund, not the date of the event.

In all refund considerations for players on a team 50% of the annual club fee is reserved for club overhead cost and is non refundable. Payments received over 50% of the annual club fee are eligible for refund.

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Region's MATRIX Director via email or US mail to The MATRIX Region address.

Refund requests for competitive soccer players will be based on the following:

Written requests received before June 30 may receive back up to 50% of the eligible annual club player fee. If (2) of the received numbered jerseys are returned in pristine condition. Otherwise you will be charged $35 for the white numbered jersey and $45 for the blue numbered jersey. Uniform half kits received by the player [everything but the numbered jerseys] cannot be returned. A $56 charge will be taken against player fees paid for the half kit received. Tournament registration fees for tournaments played are not refundable. Player fees paid by credit card will incur a $25 transaction fee before refund. All refunds are at the discretion of the board. Please allow 30 days to process the refund.

Requests received prior to July 1 – may receive up to 50% of the eligible fees paid

There will be no refunds for competitive players after 30 June.

Due to the nature of the competitive soccer club commitment and limited rosters, refunds will be considered only in extreme circumstances for the following reasons:

·      Player moving out of the area.

·      Severe injury or illness that prevents the player from participating for the remainder of the season (requires note from a physician).

·      Player cannot be placed or is removed from the team by the club.

No refunds after June 30th.

MATRIX offers a payment plan for player fees as a convenience.  If a player chooses to leave the club mid-season, the financial commitment must still be fulfilled.  No player ID's will be released if funds are due to the club.
